Opening Doors Through Education: How AIM Supports Students and Families T

At American Iron & Metal Company Inc. (AIM), we believe in building a brighter future, not only through responsible recycling, but also by empowering the next generation through education.

That’s why we created the Tuition Scholarship Assistance Program (TSAP). A program which provides direct financial support to help our employees’ children and even extended family members, pursue full-time post-secondary studies. Whether it’s a university degree, a trade certificate, or a vocational diploma, AIM is proud to help open doors to opportunity.

What the Program Offers

Our Tuition Program offers up to $8,500 CAD per year for each eligible child of an AIM employee, and up to $5,000 CAD for an eligible extended family member. And we really mean extended, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and siblings can all qualify. It’s just one more way we extend our definition of “family” beyond the workplace.

These scholarships cover 100% of tuition costs (excluding extras like books or transportation) and are available for educational programs across Canada, whether online or in person, as long as they’re full-time.

So far, we’ve proudly supported over 100 students and counting! From future engineers to early childhood educators, we’re cheering them all on.

One Program, Two Countries, One Goal

The initiative is active in both Canada (TSAP-Canada) and the United States (TSAP-USA), with tailored criteria for each region. But the goal remains the same: support education, ease financial stress, and show our employees that we’re invested in their families’ success.

More Than a Program

Last year, we hosted a BBQ celebration that brought together the entire AIM team. TSAP scholarship recipients and their proud parents were invited to join us, alongside AIM employees and leadership, to enjoy great food, share inspiring stories, and celebrate the power of education to transform lives.

It was a beautiful reminder that this program isn’t just about dollars, it’s about dreams, effort, and the people behind every application.

A Long-Term Commitment

TSAP is part of AIM’s broader vision of community support. Just like our sustainability efforts, this is a long-term investment in the future, our future. Education breaks down barriers, and we’re proud to play a small but meaningful role in helping students reach their full potential.

At AIM, we’re not just recycling metal, we’re building futures.
