Reaching 90 years is something worth celebrating, but what has made this anniversary truly special is the opportunity to celebrate it together.
Over the past few months, employees, customers, partners and members of our communities have joined us at events across our network, each one marking another chapter in AIM’s 90th anniversary year.
One of those moments took place in Hamilton, Ontario where we opened our doors for a 90th Anniversary Community Open House and Vendor Night. It was a chance to welcome neighbours, community partners, city officials, environmental organizations, local businesses and non-profit groups, and to share more about who we are and what we do. More importantly, it was an opportunity to thank the community that has supported AIM over the years and to strengthen relationships that are at the heart of AIM’s values.
June also brought back one of our favourite traditions: our annual employee appreciation BBQs. Held at our major industrial sites across Canada and USA, these events gave employees the chance to step away from their day-to-day work, enjoy a great meal and spend time with colleagues from across their sites.
This year, the celebrations had an extra layer of meaning. Everywhere you looked, the 90th anniversary was part of the experience, from the decorations and anniversary-themed giveaways to the messages shared by company leaders reflecting on how far AIM has come and where we’re headed next.
Employees also got an early look at our upcoming 90th anniversary video, which will be released later this year. The preview offered a glimpse into AIM’s history through the people and stories that have shaped the company over the last nine decades.
No matter the location, the atmosphere was the same. There were plenty of conversations, lots of laughter and a genuine sense of pride. These events were a reminder that while equipment, facilities and technology have evolved over the years, the people behind AIM have always been our greatest strength.
Our anniversary celebrations are far from over, and there are still many more stories and milestones to share in the months ahead including various customer appreciation events scheduled for this summer and fall across our network.
